Really enjoyed the game! Hope the survey helps!

(+1)

Yes, it helps, just as your video helps us. So thank you for sharing it with us!

(+1)

So neat and spooky! Loved it :)

(+1)

We expect to watch your video this weekend. My best friend is a huge SALAD FINGERS fan, so am excited to watch your video with such a title. ;)

(+1)

Thanks, man! Apologies in advance for all the Swedish cursing :P

(+1)

Vi er fra Danmark. So there is a chance we will understand your Swedish cursing. ;)

(+1)

Sedär! Säg till om ni behöver fler let's plays av era spel ;)

(+1)

Great short and intense experience. I would have loved more if it had some other scenes as well to increase the tension. Thanks :)

Thanks for the nice words. They are very nice to get.

We are in the process of testing for a possible successor to The ER, which will be a "real" game. So longer with more story, more creepy things and more surprises.

2 years later a demo came out.

The ER: Patient Typhon:

( It takes time to make a game ;-) )

Nice looking but really atmospheric game. Great job... :)

Thanks for sharing and a big thanks for the rating! Most people forget to rate the game here. Looking forward to watch your video later today.

We haven been watching you and have made some changes...

Thanks for  fill out the questionnaire!

Featured this game in my 3 random games, It's got it's quirks. It's a short experience and does actually get me near the end. Recommend it if you like short unique games.

Thanks for the recommendation and sharing your video.

This game was awesome and I had fun. Hope you enjoy the let's play!

Your character remind us of our first boss in our game The Night Christmas Ended. If you read this before someone else, here is a steamkey for The Night Christmas Ended, so you can see the first boss yourself:

Everybody's talking about how we have no arms, but i ESPECIALLY like the way we walk. Don't know whether to call it sliding or strafing lol

But all in all I liked it, good game :D

(+1)

Thanks for sharing your video. It is a sinister cover picture you have on your video.

(+1)

I don't normally play games that are set up like this one, BUT I enjoyed this!

We are glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for sharing your video. Always good to get some video feedback.

And we were also a little surprised that we were suddenly number 1 on itchio, but we enjoyed it as long as it lasted.

(+1)

Man, I loved that monster design. 10 outta 10.

yours was the first game I played

(+1)

Damn you can speak fast! You made us smile a few times, thank you for that, and thank you for sharing your video with us.

It was the caffeine in my system I assure you XD. And thanks for making the game. I hope I can play your future projects soon too :)

(+1)

Great short experiance. Loved the atmosphere and the build up. Great work I hope to see more in the future.

Thank you. You will maybe see more. We just have two other game projects on the plate at the moment that we expect to announced at the beginning of the spring.

(+1)

If you haven't played this yourself do yourself a favor and DOWNLOAD IT NOW. You won't regret it, this is a wonderful free short horror game.

Nordic Journey Maker, you promised to scare in 10 minutes or less and MAN did you deliver! This game was terrifying! The ambiance and music were on point for creating that sense of dread, and I was happy that you didn't overuse jumpscares to try and freak out the player. You went the better, more difficult route of creating an atmosphere of horror, which is far more scary anyway. I loved it! I was left with a ton of questions about the protagonist and the story, so I really hope y'all turn this into a full fledged game!

P.S. Took the survey, too. Hope it helps with future developments. :)

Thanks for all your feedback! We appreciate it. We are talking about making it into a full game, but we are actually in the middle of two other game projects at the moment that we expect to announced at the beginning of the spring. So we just have to see how things goes, but we have the idea.

(+1)

Oooh how fun! 2 other projects huh? Are both of those around horror tropes as well, or are they playing with other elements of the human psyche? I'll definitely be looking forward to when those games come out this spring. 🙂

The ER was a great game, The art style and sound choice really set the atmosphere. The art style was easily recognizable and set it apart for everything else. I love the hand-drawn look, The quietness of this place really sets the unease. Personally, I think the characters arms are missing for a reason. Imagine if you will being in a completely strange place only to wander around lost. You couldn't open any doors with handles making the area you wander limited. Almost as if something is toying with you forcing you into a play area. Not having arms is truly terrifying, that may be a long shot but that has to be the scariest thing I found during my play-through.

Thank you for your thoughts on having no arms. :)

(+1)

I figured I would lend a hand.

(+2)(-1)

What a creepy monster and game! Loved the atmosphere and the sounds.

(+2)

Haha! Hey, I recognize that face in t he thumbnail! Great video, I highly recommend this guy to anyone browsing through!

Thanks for sharing your video!

(+1)(-1)

I like the art style, but why am I missing two arms?

Du må venter på efterfølgeren for at få svaret på det. ;)

(+1)

Really nice game. The buildup was great and the art was nice.

Thanks for the feedback!

(+1)

This was a fun and creepy game! I loved the atmosphere and the mystery of the game. Who are we? What is going on? Why do we have no arms?! These questions keep the imagination on point while we try to navigate the nightmare fueled hospital. Great job developers!

Thank you for sharing some extra thoughts here, we appreciate it. We have been working on two bigger projects for a few years, which both soon will be announced. You're welcome to follow us on twitter, where we will make updates. @N_Journey_Maker

This is a great example of how to create a creepy atmosphere in a video game. The sound effects and ambient sounds really work to the games advantage to create tension. I only wish there was more of a narrative to explain why everything is happening. I mention in my video that this game feels like one chapter of a larger game, and I hope that ends up being the case. I would love to play a sequel that gives me more of an explanation of the events that take place in this game. I look forward to seeing the developers expand on this, if they choose to do so. If you want to see what my experience was like you can click the link below.

It was the "actionable narrative" (from Denmark, so I'm not sure I'm using the right word) and not the "story narrative" we worked on this time. After all the high-quality feedback we have received, we have talked about how the "story narrative" should be, if we make a full version of the game. It is tempting to do so because we have received feedback like yours. Now we just have to think about it. But, thanks again for you thoughts.

(+1)

I think you guys have something that could be really special and cool here. If I did not make it clear, I was hooked by this version of the game and now I just want more haha. I wish you guys all the best if you decide to expand this project or in your other future projects.

(+1)

Okay i won't lie i got scared LMAO my eyes started to water.. good game GREAT atmosphere i wanna see more from Nordic Journey 10/10

i had to fill out the survey after you guys got me like that :)

(+1)

Respect for being honest and thank you for filled out our questionnaire.

(+1)

Nice little horror experience. Good creepy atmosphere all around. Certainly enough atmosphere to expand out to a larger game if desired. I'll second what someone else commented and say it gave off a strong "The Thing" vibe.

Filled out survey btw.

(+1)

We're starting to desire to expand it out to a larger game. We have a lot of ideas both for the gameplay and the story that there was no room for in this project. We're big fans of The Thing a maybe it shines through. Thanks for all three feedbacks, video, questionnaire and text. It helps us.

(+1)

Redid the video with (hopefully) better sound quality. Sorry to anyone who tried to watch the first one.

Thanks for that. :)

(+1)

Played and took quiz for my video. very nice!

Thanks!

(+1)

Loved the game! Do you plan on making more of these?

We have been working on two other projects the last couple of years. (The ER was a fast little one) One is in the comedy genre and the other is a mysterious game, full of secrets. So they are a lot different from this project, but they are also based on some narrative theory I have developed, so they will also remind bit of The ER anyway. If we will make more The ER? Maybe. We're doing a design draft for a possible full version.

The ER | Legit Creepy Indie Horror Game

Very well done horror game that get's a lot done in a  very short amount of time. I'd love to see more from these guys.

(+1)

We would love to show you more. You can follow us on our twitter where we within the next few months will announce one and maybe two new games. And we expect to have at least one more game out this year. (It's easy to say when the year has just started.) Thanks for your feedback.

THE MONSTER IS COMING FOR ME! | The ER

i really really loved this! what an awesome and fun game! very different with the different camera angle :D man i wish there was more levels! XD awesome job on making this game :D
(+1)

We have also begun to wish the game was bigger. I don't want to promise anything, but we're talking about the possibility of making The ER a "real" game. Thanks for you're feedback.

(+1)

This game is really interesting even though it is short!! It does have Potential to be something amazing. If this game has more chapters and story to tell I would to play!! Looking forward for your guys next game!! Anyone who want to hear my full review check out my video thanks.

Several have said that they would like to make it a "real" game out of The ER. We are considering this because we actually have a funny idea for the story that answers why you have no arms.

LOL nice bro!! That's great news and I hope your guys ideas will be able to put in the game and make it happen!! Also It would really dope if you guys gonna be able to make real out of ER that will be great!! I wish you good luck on this project!! Keep up the good work!! Looking forward to what else you guys store for US!!

(+1)

That was fun and scare! I am happy play this game Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the praise and feedback! We appreciate it.

(+1)

This game was pretty fun! The visuals were pretty good and the audio was just amazing to set the atmosphere! I am really glad to see my crappy computer run this game without any lag! I could see a lot more potential in this game! I would definitely like to see more updates to this game. Thanks so much! Keep up the good work!

The plan was not to do more with the game, but all the good feedback you and others have given, has put a lot of thought into our heads, so maybe there will be more. Cool little drawing you've made.

(+1)

Actually enjoyed this! Good one!

Thanks!

(+1)

You did scare me! I hate being chased! good game, really set the atmosphere! Great sounds and great visuals! Set me on edge!

Thanks for all the feedback!

Yeah, you're welcome!

(+1)

Very well done! Really enjoyed what you did, very spooky, great artwork. 10/10!

(+1)

Thanks! We loved your screams! :)

(+1)

Overall I liked the design of it, the monsters and set looking like props out of The Thing, the smallish area so getting lost is not an issue, and the sound design was very nice. I could see the idea being fleshed out more and being made into a full game, but for a survey testing various types of scares it was pretty decent for what it promised. I filled your survey out, and I'm still hoping to find out what happened to our arms.

We're big fans for The Thing. One day you might find out what happened to your arms. Thanks for the feedback.

Hi there, I just recently played through The ER and I’d like to share some of my thoughts on it here in the form of a mini review. I’ll be going over a few things I liked, some things I didn’t and any bugs I might have found while playing.

I’ll begin with what I liked. The game’s sound design immediately stands out to me, there’s an ample amount of bass to it and it gives off the sense that something’s looming around any given corner. The atmosphere is also set up quite well, the environments are tight and compact, blood covered, and overall creepy, the sound design and atmosphere also go hand in hand with the use of subtle effects to get the player’s heart racing. Sound and atmosphere are critical to a horror game, and I’m happy to say that this game knocks both out of the park.

There’s only one thing I can say that I didn’t quite like and that was the lack of an overarching story-line, something to glue the horror set pieces together and give the player a reason for being at this hospital. Given how the game plays out, I would only consider this to be a minor gripe, but it’s still something I would have liked to see.

I’m happy to report that I didn’t run into any bugs throughout my time with the game.

At the end of the day, this is a good horror game. The atmosphere is tense, and is made even better by the excellent sound design. The game looks decent enough and runs well, but could benefit from some form of plot-line.

Oh, I also took part in your survey.

Cheers and best wishes,

Killjoy

Thanks for all the feedback!!! We have an idea for a real story for the game, but we were not really supposed to work more on this project. But it has been fun, and we have got a lot of good feedback that have given us many new ideas, so we are considering it now. Thanks again.

DAMNNN! VERY CREEPY! GOOD JOBS

Thanks!

I liked the use of sound in this. Somehow I don't think there's real escape in this. :)

(+1)

There is never any real escape... Thanks for playing and the feedback!
